SIP N' MINGLE IN MARCH
It was a pleasure to welcome you to The Village Winemaker last week. It's always good when you can meet nice people in a relaxed atmosphere and learn something new. It was very interesting hearing what each of you does as well as being able to share a bit about what we do.
Thank you to Balbir and Hilda for organising the event and co-hosting with me. Thank you Savi for the wonderful dessert and thank you for the fellow March Birthday people.

We want to assure you that we are staying on top of developments and keeping you informed. At this time, there are no changes, that affect us directly but things are somewhat fluid. </p><p class=''>There has been a strong response to these unprovoked US - trade tariffs imposed on Canada. We have heard from many annoyed customers who are avoiding US wines at TVW. We have seen an increase in overt Canada Pride (specifically the type without the rainbow). Thank You for 25 Years
This newsletter has been a long time coming. I would like to thank everyone for helping us to make it to this, our 25th Year.
We had our 25th Year Celebration at the end of June. It was our very first event on Kerr Street and well attended. We welcomed Mayor Rob Burton and Kerr Street BIA, Doug Sams who had some very nice words to say about our achievement.

"Alcohol Tax Increase. Alcohol Price Increase?"
We have received numerous calls and questions about retail wine, beer and liquor price increases.
My understanding at this point is that the Federal Excise Tax on liquor, wine and beer is due to increase by 6.3% starting April 1st, 2023.
This according to Curiocity
"Therefore, any retail price increases are on a product-by-product basis and determined by beverage alcohol producers."
The Village Winemaker prices will not be affected by these increases.
